MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome and thank your for your interest in The Awty International School, Houston. Founded in 1956, The Awty International School celebrated its 50th anniversary during the 2006-2007 school year. Awty remains unique among Houston’s private schools, offering a private, co-educational, college preparatory day school program, enrolling 1180 students in three-year-old pre-school through grade 12.

The school seeks to enroll qualified, above-average students who will be successful in our program. We offer our students two academic programs: a traditional American college preparatory program, leading to the International Baccalaureate and the American High School Diploma, and a program, approved by the French government, leading to the French Baccalauréat. In addition to providing a strong basis in traditional academic subjects, The Awty International School strives to instill in its students an awareness of and appreciation for the diversity among nations.

Of our 1180 students, 40% of the students on our campus are American citizens, followed by 30% French and 10% British. With over 60 nationalities represented on our campus, our students come from every corner of the world representing countries such as, Australia, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway and Russia.

100% of our graduates go on to attend universities and colleges throughout world. Graduates of Awty are presently attending many fine institutions including Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University, Dartmouth University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, McGill University (Canada), Rice University, Stanford University, Swarthmore College, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas (Austin), University of Warwick (England), Williams College, Yale University, and many other schools throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
