French National Honor Society

The French honor Society is not a club, and membership is not voluntary but earned through academic excellence in character. In addition to the elected officers who have an active role, other members can participate in different activities.

Participation in the Society fulfills the following CAS hours requirements: 1) Creativity and 2) Service.

The group meets twice a month in room 911.

The sponsor of the group is Dr. Nadia Triki. Please direct any questions or requests for further information to her.

Description of the Purpose, Goals, Intentions:

The Society recognizes outstanding scholarship in the study of French language through selection for membership, the placement of a special seal on the graduate's diploma, the wearing of a tri-colored cord at graduation, and the right to wear the official emblem/pin of the honor society.

It provides a vehicle for focusing activities around French language and literature, and also for encouraging member participation in the promotion of French language and Francophone cultures.

In addition, students experience leadership in serving as officers, leading several events like the Shoebox project, Books for Haiti project, activities during Francophonie week, etc.
