Corporate Engagement & Support Opportunities

The Awty International School invites local, national, and multi-national businesses to consider the many ways we can partner in preparing our students for global careers and purposeful lives. Your business has the added benefit of creating a strong affiliation with Houston’s premier provider of an international education. Coordinated by Kevin McTernan, Chief Advancement Officer.

Ways to connect with us:

Become a Corporate Legacy Partner (CLP)

Major companies bring ex-pats and their families to Houston and choose Awty for its multilingualism and offering of both the International Baccalaureate and French Baccalaureat programs of study. CLPs donate between $100,000 and $500,000 per year (depending on the number of expat families expected to apply to Awty that calendar year: $100,000 for up to ten, $200,000 for up to 20, etc.) Additional donations are often made to enhance recognition of the company in new facilities such as classrooms and other academic spaces.

Children of CLP employees receive the extra consideration for admission as we give legacy families. Qualified applicants from CLP families typically have double the odds of being admitted as do those from the general public.

In addition, a company-designated executive is invited to participate in Awty’s International Leadership Council (ILC), a Board of Trustees advisory and networking group. The ILC meets twice annually with Board officers and senior administrators for briefings and strategy discussions, and members are invited to select social events with the Board and with Awty’s leading donors each year.

Act as an Annual Gala Underwriter or Event Sponsor

Businesses of all sizes are invited to lend their support to this event and auction. With an attendance of more than 600 guests annually, and $500,000 or more each year raised each year, premier seating and recognition give sponsors networking interactions with Awty’s top clientele at both the Gala and the underwriters party prior to the event.

Table sponsorships range from the exclusive lead sponsorship of $50,000 to $5,000 and underwriting is available for portions of the event ranging from $20,000 to $1,000.

The 2018 Gala, Sea the World, is Saturday, March 3 at the Ballroom at Bayou Place.

Support through Corporate Matching Gifts

You can provide incentives for employees to make their own charitable donations to Awty by matching their gift (up to three times the original donation). Companies of all sizes can establish matching gift programs. In 2016-17, Awty received 110 matching gifts from 17 companies totaling $110,000.

For companies with several Awty parents and alumni as employees, we are happy to work with you and set up onsite lunch meetings where we can make our case for support and reinforce the company’s commitment to employee philanthropy with its matching gift program.

Capital Contributions to new and upgraded facilities

For companies wishing to have their names associated with particular facilities, donor recognition naming opportunities are available, ranging from $50,000 for naming a classroom to $5,000,000 for naming rights to a building. Currently, Awty is opening a newly-built Early Learning Campus for grades PK3/PS to 1st/CP. In 2018 to 2022, we will be renovating and expanding science labs, and building a Student Campus Center, Visual Arts wing, and Performing Arts Center.

Host Admissions recruitment gatherings onsite

You can invite Awty Admissions staff (alone or in conjunction with other private independent schools) to lead a Q&A with employees about the school’s programs and to encourage admissions inquiries and applications. There is no cost to companies…we can even provide lunch to your employees!

Host student interns for a weeklong shadowing experience

Help Awty students begin career planning activities by hosting freshmen students for a week. Ninth grade/3ème students spend one week experiencing a possible career area under the mentoring guidance of your employees. It is possible to host several students or just one. Takes place April 2-6, 2018. Coordinated by Tairong Zheng, IB Coordinator of Creativity, Activity, and Service.

Awty vendors make a difference

Awty relies on more than 330 vendors to provide everything from legal services to housekeeping supplies, from dining hall food to classroom equipment. Sometimes, vendors are in a position to provide items or services at cost or for free as donations in-kind. We can work with you to give your business appropriate recognition for the dollar value of donated or discounted items or services as the law permits. If you can save Awty $5,000 in expenses for the year, it is the same as donating that amount up front.

Let’s meet and discuss your interest in one or more of these options. Awty looks forward to doing business with you! Our corporate relations team works with a variety of businesses and organizations to determine the best ways for you to support Awty and for Awty to help promote your business. Contact
