LIBRARY PERSONNEL

Diana Armentor: Head Librarian

Ariane Folliot: Librarian -- Pre-School Library

Clarissa Richardson: Librarian -- Primary School Library

Lucas Anderson: Librarian -- Sarofim Library

THE PRE-SCHOOL LIBRARY

The Pre-School Library houses 3500 titles in three languages. Weekly visits introduce PK3-Kindergarten students to books through storytelling. Students check out books and read them with their teacher or at home.

THE PRIMARY SCHOOL LIBRARY

The Primary School Library houses over 15,000 books and welcomes students from 1st to 5th grade in English, Spanish and French. Classes are scheduled to visit the library regularly with their teachers. During their library time, students listen to stories and have the opportunity to share their opinions on books. Several reading programs are in place to encourage students to be open and analytical about books. Other activities designed to complement the school’s curriculum include introductions to various literary genres and library research using tools such as the online card catalog and the Galenet database. The Primary School Library works closely with the teachers to help enrich the classroom curriculum. The library is a bright, comfortable and ever-changing space that encourages the students to develop their curiosity and imagination.

THE SAROFIM LIBRARY

The Sarofim Library provides printed and digital resources to support the Middle School and Upper School curriculum. Housing over 20,000 titles in seven languages, the Sarofim Library provides a varied and enriching collection to students and faculty. The library also utilizes technology to put information at students’ fingertips. The library contains 12 computers with access to the library’s catalog and the World Wide Web. For students, research can be conducted through online databases such as Galenet database, Facts on File, and Questia. For teachers, hundreds of films and documentaries are available in the library and streaming video is provided through United Streaming. The Sarofim Library serves as a cultural center by periodically hosting art exhibits, guest speakers, and music performances. In addition, the library coordinates reading programs to foster a life-long love of reading among students.
