Awty Graduation - Class of 2017

The Awty International School's Class of 2017 was celebrated during the school's 42nd Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 20. 

Mr. Anton Truong, faculty member and Science Department Chair delivered this year’s commencement address thanks to the Senior Committee. 

The graduation ceremony also included opening remarks from Ms. Lisa Darling, Head of School, valedictory addresses from seniors Anaelle Lahitte-Croharé (French Bilingual Program) and Marcos Julian Botto Tornielli (International Program), and the traditional presentation of diplomas. Additionally, four distinguished awards were presented during the ceremony including the Community Service Award - Margaret Schroeder,  the Kathleen Awty Award - Karim Machkhas, the Head of School Award - Clayton Meyer, and the APPA Citizenship Award - Yasmine Roy and Tayma Machkhas.

Thank you to Mr. Rob Dee, Mr. Jason Peguero, Mrs. Gesina Thompson, the Awty Wind Ensemble, the Awty Orchestra, and the Awty Singers for providing music throughout the event. Awty extends a BIG thank you to Mrs. Margaret Buehler, the entire Senior Committee, Awty's Maintenance and Facilities Department, and everyone who had a hand in organizing this special event.
