- How can I enroll my child?
Admission to the Awty International School is selective. The first step is to submit the online application for admissions (click here). The deadlines to apply for August 2017 entry are October 30, 2016 for PK3/PS - 5/CM2 and November 30, 2016 for 6/6EME - 12/TLE. Please review the application requirements according to the grade/program your child will be applying to enter. Completed files will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and notification of decisions are sent to parents by the second week of March.
- When can I start my online application for the 2017-2018 academic year?
The Awty International School accepts applications one year prior to the date of expected entry starting on August 1. Read more

- Do you recommend for my child to apply to more than one private school?

- Can my child apply to both French and International Sections?
You may submit only one application per child per admissions cycle to the Awty International School. You must indicate your preferred immersion language, second language or diploma track (IB or French Bac) on the application. Read more
- Does my child need to speak a second language prior to attending Awty?
Awty has a very strong world language program. Students in our Preschool participate in an immersion program in either English/Spanish or English/French and no previous exposure to the second language is expected. We offer intensive language courses from beginner through native speaker levels in all other grades If applying to the Upper School, please contact our office for more information on the beginner courses we will be offering the upcoming school year.
- Where can I have my child take the required standardized admission test?
Applicants to PK4 through 1st grade must submit the results of the WPPSI-IV.
Applicants to 2nd through 4th grade must submit the results of the WISC.
Locally, we recommend Education Specialists, Inc. The office is located at 10700 Richmond Avenue, Houston, TX 77042. Contact Tami Clark at 713-461-7996.
Alternatively, the WISC-IV and WPPSI tests can be taken with any certified diagnostician. Please have the results sent to The Awty International School. The test should be administered in the child's first language.
Applicants to 5th through 12th grade must submit results of the ISEE and the OLSAT. For 5th grade, the OLSAT is optional. The Awty International School administers the ISEE test on January 7, 2017 and the OLSAT on January 14, 2017. For the ISEE, please register online at www.iseetest.org. Additional dates and locations throughout the US are available. Overseas applicants may register with Prometric for a location near them.

- What do you mean by an achievement test?
Some public and private schools administer achievement tests as a way to evaluate their students internally. Please check with your child’s current school if they do this and send us a copy of the last school year’s achievement test (i.e. Stanford, Iowa, CTP IV, etc.). Read more
- If I did not submit an online application for admission by the application deadline, can I still apply?
Please call the admissions office prior to submitting a late online application to confirm availability of openings. Read more
- Can my child apply to both Preschool dual language programs?
You may submit only one application per child per admissions cycle to be considered for entry to the Awty International School. You must indicate your preference of language at the time you submit your application. If you would be open to either language and have no preference, you may let the admissions office know and the admissions committee will determine the language placement based on the availability of openings. - Can my child have a shadow visit?
Middle and Upper School applicants accepted to join The Awty International School will be invited for a shadow visit. Accepted applicants will receive detailed information with notification of admission. Tours and open houses are available to prospective applicants and applicants will be invited to events on campus throughout the admissions cycle.
- Can you provide us with an early decision?
Due to the high number of applications, and in order to ensure an equitable review process, all applicants are notified on a common date in the second week of March. Read more
- Do you have transportation available?
Yes. There are multiple bus routes available in the Houston area for an additional fee. However, the school may cancel a route if the number of riders hinder the financial viability of the route. Younger (PK3/PS - 2/CE1) students must be accompanied by an older sibling (3/CE2 and up).
- Do you have an after school care program?
Yes. The Awty Plus
program starts right after school and there are a variety of activities to select for 3-year old to 5/CM2 students. The program runs until 6:00 p.m. Read more
- Is there a legacy policy?
Awty gives priority consideration to the children of a parent affiliated with the school in one of the following ways: is a graduate or employee of the school, has children already enrolled or concurrently applying, or is being relocated to Houston by an Awty-recognized corporation.
- Do you offer Financial Aid or Scholarships?
We offer need-based aid to students accepted to first grade and above. Families must apply through SSS (School and Student Services by NAIS) and by submitting the Awty Application for Financial Aid
