Welcome to the 2012-2013 School Year at The Awty International School!

Dear Parents,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you and your family to The Awty International School. The faculty and staff at Awty are looking forward to working with you and your child(ren) and anticipate an outstanding 2012-2013 academic year.

In an effort to facilitate the transition into our school, we have developed this Electronic Parent Guide for you. Here, you will find a lot of helpful information to get you and your child(ren) ready for the start of school. I encourage you to take the time to visit each page. The menu on the left will guide you to the specific information you are looking for. Simply click on "International Section" or "French Section" under "New Parents".

Also for your convenience, please note the dates below which will help you for the start of school. I do recommend that you visit the school calendar page on regular basis as it is an important tool. Please click here to gain direct access to it.

• August 1: The online Emergency Medical Release. Click HERE to access clinic forms..
• August 1: The Medical Record Form, along with current immunization records (if not already turned in). Please submit to the Admissions Office. Click HERE to access clinic forms..
• August 1: The TAPPS Preparticipation Physical Evaluation and acknowledgement of rules if student is entering 6th to 12th grade. To access Athletics information for International Section Middle School click HERE or for International Section Upper School click HERE. For French Section Middle School click HERE, and for French Section Upper School, click HERE. 
• August 1: The Potty Training Form (for students entering PK3 and PK4) if not already submitted. Click here to access this form
• August 1: The copy of passport and visa if the student is not an American Citizen if not already submitted
• August 15: The Bus Registration Forms and the Afternoon Bus Transportation Form. Click HERE to access this form.
• August 15: The Primary School Pick up Authorization Form if not already submitted. Click HERE to access this form.

• August 13-14: Book Sale, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Café North
• August 13, 14, 17, and 20: APPA Used Uniform Sale, School Campus. Please contact Awty parent Ms. Fatima Zamarrips for any questions.
• August 13: 11th grade IB Orientation, Sarofim Library, 2:30 p.m.
• August 15: New Middle School/Upper School Parent Information Session, Lower School Building, The Globe, 10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• August 15: Middle and Upper School New Students Orientation Day – 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m, Café North. For new students entering 6th through 12th grades only.
• August 15: Lower School Second Language Assessment (New students 2nd-5th grade only). Lower School Building, 9:00 a.m. –11:00 a.m.
• August 16: First day of school for Middle and Upper School - Secondary
• August 17: New Preschool/Lower School Parent Information Session, Lower School Building, The Globe, 9:00-10:00 a.m. and Meet Your Teacher Classroom Open House, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
• August 17: PK3 and PK4 Play Date, Preschool Playground, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
