KRAMS-TV / Atelier 36

Atelier 36 integrates multi-media instruction and material into an active program that could be utilized by students and teachers.

Using the latest video editing and studio technology, students in the 5th Grade Primary School (both sections) will take a nine-week course that teaches the student various aspects of film making to include camera work, microphone technicians, soundboard technicians, video capturing, video mixing, script writing, anchor desk, and field reporting.

After the initial two-week training session, the students then begin to work on a ten-minute news broadcast that acts as a weekly announcement/bulletin board and is broadcast on the Awty Intranet weekly. Typically students in each of the three nine-week sessions will complete at least five taped broadcasts before the end of each term and will receive a DVD of the five taped shows that were produced.

Sign up sheets go home to students two weeks after the beginning of school, and generally fill up quickly. There are 15 slots available for each nine-week session. If you are a parent who would like to get involved, volunteers can email to Mr. Michael Poellnitz, Primary School Technology Coordinator, or Mr. Laurent Thomin, Atelier 36 Coordinator.
