We're bursting with pride! Recently, five of our talented 1ère students showcased their innovative projects at the French Biology Olympiads. Awty fielded two formidable teams who navigated through several competitive selection rounds with distinction.
Team Flooding, comprised of Elora B., Alexia M., and Meije L., developed strategies to combat Houston's flooding issues using native plant species. Meanwhile, Team Mosquito, featuring Anita W. and Juliette S., focused on controlling Houston's mosquito population using natural predators. Both teams not only excelled in creating informative project videos but also achieved top rankings, with Team Mosquito securing 1st place and Team Flood taking 2nd in North America among AEFE French Schools.
Their success didn't stop there; both teams were selected as top 3 finalists globally, competing against over 60 teams. At the grand finale in Toulouse, France, Team Mosquito continued to impress, placing 2nd in front of a distinguished jury of university and engineering school professors.
A huge congratulations to our students for their exceptional achievements and to their teacher Ms. Soria for her invaluable guidance and support!
