Awty Students Compete in Local Chinese Speech Contest

Seven students in the French section including Nolan Causer, Eduardo Dagnino, Louis Duchemin, Nathalie Jeanneret, Neelam Monroy, Joshua Santurbano, and Apolline Taxy all received Honorable Mention prizes at the 16th Annual Greater Houston Chinese Speech Contest in the Middle-High School (12-18 year old) category.  The topics were selected by the students, and the speeches were not to exceed three minutes.  Congratulation to all our Awty winners, including our international students who participated.

This competition is organized every year by Sharpstown International School, Confucius Institute, Hua Xia Chinese School, and China Overseas Education Foundation.

Sept élèves (Nolan Causer, Eduardo Dagnino, Louis Duchemin, Nathalie Jeanneret, Neelam Monroy, Joshua Santurbano, et Apolline Taxy) de chinois de la section française ont participé à la 16e compétition de discours chinois du district de Houston à Sharpstown international school le dimanche 12 novembre 2017. Cette  compétition consiste à présenter un discours préparé de 2 à 3 minutes en chinois, sur un sujet choisi par l’étudiant, devant un jury de professeur de chinois. Les niveaux sont divisés en ‘langue étrangère’ et ‘langue maternelle’, et regroupé par tranche d'âge (12-18 ans). Bravo également aux élèves de la sections internationale qui ont participé. Nos 7 étudiants d’Awty section françaises ont remportes la mention d’honneur. Félicitations ! 

Cette competition (16th Greater Houston area Chinese Speech Competition)  est organisée tous les ans par Sharpstown international school, Confucius Institute, Hua Xia Chinese School, et China Overseas Education Foundation.

      

    

 

Other News

All five of Awty's Odyssey of the Mind teams participated in the State Finals, which were held this past Saturday, April 14, and the results were quite impressive including a first place win for the 10th/12th Grade team. This is Awty's first ever first place finish in the State Finals!  The 10th/12th Grade team now advances to the world finals at Iowa State University, which will be held on May 23. Congratulations to you all!  You make Awty proud!
