Diplomas

International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a comprehensive two-year educational program with an academically rigorous curriculum. At Awty, all students in 11th and 12 grade follow the full diploma program. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive an IB Diploma which is recognized by many universities worldwide.

The IB Diploma curriculum consists of six subject groups and three core elements. Students choose one subject from each group.

In additional to these six subjects, the IB also requires three core elements of: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, and Services (CAS).

French Baccalauréat

The French Baccalauréat marks the end of a rigorous French High School education. The French Baccalauréat is controlled by the French Ministry, which determines the organization of the exam and provides the standardized tests to be taken. Students who obtain this very demanding diploma get access to all universities in France and most universities across the world.

At Awty, all students in the French program prepare for the Baccalauréat Général. Students have the opportunity to choose to take the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) section Américaine, which emphasizes their French-American bilingualism. In 2021, students started taking the new Baccalauréat as described by the French Ministry of Education.
