Required Documents

PK3/PS: All students entering PK3/PS must be potty trained by the first day of school. Please submit the Potty Training Form by August 1, 2017.

Carpool (Drop-off and Pick-up)

Prior to the first day of school, you will receive a sign and a car tag to be displayed to gain access to both campuses.

Morning carpool begins at 7:15 a.m. and arriving early is a great way to avoid traffic. A teacher assistant or school staff will be present curbside to help your child out of the car and into the building between 7:15 and 8:20 a.m.

  • Children who are dropped off early during carpool are supervised by school staff in grade-level groupings indoors on cold or rainy mornings and on the playground most other days of the year. This early care supervision is provided free of charge.
  • 1st grade/CP students should arrive at school by 7:50 a.m. at which time teachers escort children to their classrooms for an 8:00 a.m. start to the school day.
  • PK3/PS, PK4/MS, Kinder/GS students should arrive at school by 8:05 a.m. at which time teachers escort children to their classrooms for an 8:15 a.m. start to the school day.
  • On the first day of school, parents may walk their child to class. Please use available parking around the campus.
Afternoon carpool operates from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m.

Dress Code / Uniforms

Students in PK3/PS and PK4/MS wear regular clothing. Please send with your child one change of clothes, labeled, in a reclosable bag with your child’s name on it. A change of clothes must be kept in the classroom throughout the school year.

PK3/PS should also send a small pillow and a blanket for “nap time.” These items go back home with your child every Friday to be washed. Every Monday they should be sent back to school with your child. Children entering this grade must be potty trained by the start of school. Please complete the online Acknowledgement of Potty Training Form by August 1.

Kinder/GS and 1st grade/CP students wear the school uniform. Parker School Uniforms is our provider, and each year they organize in-store private sales for new families, offering a 10% discount. The sales will take place from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:

Sage Dining

Sage Dining provides our meals daily. Our on-site chef prepares a daily menu of healthy snacks and lunch options. The cost is included with tuition. For more detailed information, visit the Sage Dining web page.

Awty Plus (After Care)

Please visit the Awty Plus section of the website for detailed information about our after-school program, which will run both at the ELC and on the main campus.

Stay and Play begins on the first day of school and starts at 2:50 p.m. providing supervised after-care until 6:00 p.m.

Awty Plus activities start the second week of school, offering specialty classes in a range of areas. Please refer to the list of Spring Term Activities and their descriptions for a representative sample. The updated list and registration will be available in early August 2017.

You are able to choose a combination of after care including Stay and Play and Awty Plus activities to suit your child's interests and your after-care needs.

Books and Supplies

All the required books and supplies for the Early Learners are included in the Book Fee, and will be placed in the students’ classrooms before the first day of school.


A “Green Awty Bag” will be provided to each student to bring back and forth to school. As a bag is provided for your child, no backpacks or rolling bags are allowed for Preschool students.

A “Communication Cahier” (Communication Notebook) between parents and teachers will be sent home in the Green Bag each day.


Parents supply their 1st grade/CP student with a book bag, backpack or satchel which the child can carry on his/her own. A brand of school bag called ZUCA is not permitted for this grade and is not permitted on the yellow school buses.

A “Cahier de Communication” (Communication Notebook) between parents and teachers will be sent home in the school bag each day for CP students. Students in 1st grade have an agenda which comes home every day. The school provides the cahier and the agenda to students.

Students in 1st grade/CP at Awty learn both block print and cursive handwriting. To ease the transition for students who have not been exposed to cursive, parents are encouraged to purchase practice books such as the D’Nealian Handwriting Books available at most retail bookstores and online. The practice books should include both lower and upper case letters.
