Dance

The dance program at Awty is built upon a solid foundation of ballet, jazz, and modern dance techniques. Students are also exposed to lyrical and contemporary movement styles, as well as hip-hop and improvisation. Dance is offered as a year-long elective to 8th/4ème, 9th/3ème, and 10th grade/2nde students as well as through the Upper School Dance Ensemble (an audition-only company that is open to students in 9th grade/3ème to 12th grade/Tle). All dance students perform in the annual Spring Dance Showcase at the end of year. Additional performance opportunities include assemblies, sporting events, the International Festival, and the Student Choreography Showcase.
