BASKETBALL
Each week, we will begin class by focusing on a particular skill such as proper shooting form, dribbling, passing, or defense, as well as learning the rules of the game. Once we have practiced our skill of the day, various games are set up for them to play. Those who want to play a team game may do so and those who would rather play individual games such as "Around the World, H-O-R-S-E, 21, or Knock Out" may do so. We have four basketball goals set to different heights allowing plenty of room for everyone to do something fun at their skill level. The classes are rarely the same from week to week. Some days I may even have them all play a team game. Our class is usually concluded with “Basketball Trivia.” It’s a game I use to help them remember the game rules and to teach them about the world of basketball.

FLAG FOOTBALL
Flag Football is American Football without the physical contact.
In addition to learning the rules of the game, students will practice throwing, catching, kicking, running-routes, and learn defensive techniques. Our class encourages physical fitness, good sportsmanship, and team play. We begin each class by warming up by throwing and catching the ball with a partner. Then, we work on offensive and/or defensive skills as well as game situations. Each day, they will learn a play or two that they can incorporate into their daily game. Flag Football is not a contact sport. At times, there will be some incidental contact, but overall the contact is minimal.
My core philosophy in all my classes revolves around three principles:
- Do your best!
- Believe in yourself!
- Don't give up!

GYMNASTICS
Lower School Gymnastics
We bring everything a Gymnastics Club has to offer, to your school! Our friendly and experienced instructors mix great training with having lots of fun! Our class focuses on flexibility, strength building, and mastering new skills. In addition to many tumbling mats, we also use multi-height balance beams, the bar, the springboard for vaulting, and many soft skill-assisting mats for safe fun and learning!
The skill level for this class ranges from level 1-3 meaning we have children who begin by learning rolls and cartwheels and may progress to learning back handsprings and cartwheels on the low balance beams. The elements for each event are taught in a progressive order. The more experienced students, who already know the beginner skills, will be grouped together to practice skills to fit their level. We teach the skills for bars, beam, vault, and floor.
We play new music playlists every few months for the kids to enjoy while they warm-up (run), stretch, and practice their skills. The songs are new, old, and always upbeat to help them stay energized. They love it!
Attire: Your child needs to have a leotard for practice. Some prefer to wear shorts over their leotard, which is completely fine. Tights under the leotard or dress are NOT okay (unless they are footless). I have some leotards in stock if you'd like to buy some directly from us. More information regarding attire will be provided to participants.
Hair: If possible, please have your child's hair braided or in a bun, so they will be able to do bridges without it getting in the way.
For students in 2nd/CE1 - 5th/CM2
Early Learning Gymnastics
Our classes are geared toward achieving goals, developing coordination, building self-confidence, gaining strength, flexibility, and most of all, HAVING FUN! We try to keep the class at a fast pace to keep the children’s attention as long as possible. With the exception of skill instruction with a demonstration, we keep their bodies moving!
We will be practicing tumbling skills that lead to accomplishments such as headstands, handstands, various rolls, and cartwheels! In addition to tumbling skills, we will be utilizing vaulting stations, bars, and multiple heights of balance beams. Our class is structured to achieve progressive skills for all ages and skill levels using the United States Gymnastics Association (USAG – the governing body of gymnastics in the USA) handbook.
Attire:
- Girls must wear a leotard (any color) with gym shorts (optional) worn over it. If your child has long hair, please put it in a ponytail or bun on gymnastics day. No specific shoes are required.
- Boys should wear shorts or athletic pants with a short-sleeved shirt. No specific shoes are required.
Certifications: Our lead Gymnastics Coach is KAT (Kinder Accreditation Training) and Safety certified through USAG, has CPR/First Aid certification, and is trained in “Safeguarding God’s Children” (a teacher’s training course offered through the Episcopal Church).

HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE
What distinguishes this from the activity program is that students do not participate in a daily after-school activity. In this program, students attend study hall with other age-appropriate children and concentrate on homework. This is not the same as one-on-one. Students who need more attention should seek private tutoring. This is for students who do not wish to participate in a daily activity.

Our national, award-winning, five-level program is specially designed for children and builds upon the educational concepts they are learning in the classroom including math and science. Fun comes first in every TGA class, but our curriculum also focuses on improving motor skills and physical fitness as well as instilling self confidence and life values through professional golf instruction. Students learn the fundamentals, etiquette, and rules of the game in the comfortable environment of your school campus with a low 10:1 student to professional instructor ratio. Best of all, we provide all the equipment and training materials so children of all skill levels have the chance to come out and tee it up with TGA!

Volleyball
This fun and exciting indoor sport for both boys and girls combines skill development with learning to work as a member of a team. We will be learning the fundamentals of serving, passing, setting, and attacking, then use those skills in match play. We will emphasize good sportsmanship to teammates and opponents as well as a healthy respect for the outcome of the competition.

Yoga
Students will participate in playful poses, yoga games, and storytelling through yoga. Yoga classes will assist students in developing physical awareness, coordination, and skills, and strengthening and developing muscles in a non-competitive and nurturing environment. Yoga also enhances self-awareness, body control, imagination, empathy, self-discipline, focus, attention span, and self-esteem. Participation in Yoga can aid in decreased anxiety while soothing emotional and physiological stress and frustration. Through our unique approach to Yoga, children will have the benefit of an active and fun class balanced with calmness and relaxation in a child friendly environment.
