AWTY'S 2017 GALA, CIRCO DEL SOL
Ladies and Gentlemen! Come one, come all! To the Greatest Show under the Awty Big Top!
Gala Co-Chairs Patti Gil, Talia Kallop, and Joanna Strachan are ready to celebrate with you at Awty's 2017 Gala, Circo Del Sol, set for Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Silver Street Studios. Prepare to be amazed at the transformation as we celebrate Awty and support the school.
The fun will start with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a sumptuous seated dinner, live auction, amazing entertainment, and music that will keep you dancing until 1:00 a.m.
As many of you know, the Gala is Awty’s largest fundraising event of the year. Due to the generosity of donors like you, we are able to offer students activities that go beyond the classroom basics and contribute to their personal development, as well as the professional development of our faculty. We invest every dollar back in our students! The annual Gala helps fund student participation in the highly recognized National Honor Society, French National Contest, and Model United Nations. Finally, the Gala also supports the school’s expanded Financial Aid Program, which is distributing more than $1.2 million in scholarship funds this year to families that might not otherwise be able to afford an Awty education, or who have suffered recent job loss. Gala attendees will get the opportunity to make a contribution toward these funds during the Live Auction when we ask you to raise your Paddles Up.
LIVE AUCTION:
We know our guests are eagerly anticipating our live auction where they will bid for exciting items including trips to domestic, international, and exotic destinations.
Our auction features exciting trips and unique experiences that will transport you throughout the country and around the world to fabulous destinations including Vail, Cannes, a grand tour of Perú, Mexico, Grand Cayman, local favorite Galveston, and Jackson Hole. This will also be the last year to bid on a trip to Mallorca. These are all items not to be missed!
ONLINE AUCTION:
In addition to our events the night of the gala, there is another exciting gala highlight, the online auction.
The online auction opens at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, and is sure to tempt you with its unique and diverse offerings: summer internships for Upper School students; lavish Houston experiences; premier seats to sporting events and artistic performances; Texas getaways; lush spa treatments; kid’s items; parties just for adults; and so much more! You won’t want to miss the opportunity to take home one of these packages. This year, Awty Adventures, Sociables, and grade level baskets will be available exclusively online.
