WELCOME

Welcome to the first issue of ACCENT for the 2019-2020 school year. Inside this issue, we feature the 2018-2019 Annual Report. The school extends a BIG thank you to everyone who contributed to a successful 2018-2019 school year, and who continue to support the school each and every year. We've also included news around campus, success stories among both the faculty and the student body, and brief bios on our new full-time employees.

AWTY RAM FAM

Homecoming 2019

It was all about the AWTY RAM FAM during Awty’s 2019 Homecoming Spirit Week on November 11-15. Students, teachers, and staff all showed their Awty spirit during a week of fun, which included dress up days, photos, treats, and fun competitions.

At the end of the weeklong celebration, the students, staff, and faculty came together and showed their Awty pride at the annual Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, November 15. During the pep rally, both the Girls Varsity Soccer Team and the Boys Varsity Soccer Team were introduced. The students who had been nominated to the 2019 Homecoming Court were also introduced. Entertainment was provided by the cheerleaders, dance team, drum line, and Rambo, Awty's mascot.

Homecoming week culminated with two varsity soccer games versus YES Prep Southeast on Friday night at Awty Field. The Varsity Boys Soccer Team played first, defeating the Wizards 2-1. The Varsity Girls Soccer game followed and the Lady Rams shut out the Wizards 3-0.

At halftime during the girls' game, the 2019 Homecoming Court was announced, where senior Noémie Dott was crowned Homecoming Queen and senior William Ward was selected as the Homecoming King. Awty's 2019 Homecoming Court also included 11th grade/1ère Princess Hortense Pelletan and Prince Arthus Lavaux, 10th grade/2nde Princess Muge Ozgul and Prince Dylan Nokleby, and 9th grade/3ème Princess Charlotte Charlton and Prince Zach Black. Congratulations to all!
