General Summary of Fees and Other Costs for Awty's J-1 Program

The Awty International School is a sponsor of J-1 visa sunder the Teacher Exchange Visitor category. As such, we are required to provide on our main Web sites (and in our recruiting materials) a general summary of the program’s associated fees. These are the costs teachers can expect to pay while on exchange program. All costs are listed in $USD.

The Awty International School pays all fees for our J-1 and J-2 visa holders including forms I-901 and DS-160 (by reimbursement if necessary). Awty does not work with third party agents to find placements for teachers. We sponsor only to meet our own exchange teacher needs.

Salary Information

J-1 and J-2 Teachers are paid over a 12-month period according to the same salary scale as US teachers. The faculty scale is built on relevant teaching experience and highest degree earned. Salaries are commensurate with training and experience providing for a comfortable lifestyle. Specific salary information based on the internally published pay scale will be communicated during the interview process.

Awty-Specific Cost: 2020-2021 Medical Insurance Plan (mandatory):

The costs shown reflect plan cost for the 2020-2021 school year. We do not anticipate that there will be significant increases in the coming school year. Although Awty offers two insurance plans, only the Aetna Choice POS plan meets the requirements of J-1 program. Costs vary according to whom is covered.

The Awty International School offers its J-1 employees Aetna Choice POS II. It offers comprehensive coverage, preventive care, and open access to doctors and facilities in the appropriate network. The plan allows employee to insure themselves and their dependents with an affordable health insurance option that allows for copays for routine medical care, a low deductible and coinsurance to assist with higher claims costs. The out of pocket maximum limits employees’ financial. The plan exceeds the requirements set forth through Healthcare reform that mandates all individuals own health insurance that meets Minimum Essential Coverage.
