Awty Ranks in the Top 3 for Best Private K-12 Schools According to Niche

We are excited to announce Awty has been recognized as one of the Best Schools in America by Niche, the largest website for researching K-12 schools! This year, Awty has received its highest ranking ever from Niche! We are proud to be in the TOP 3 alongside St. John's School and The Kinkaid School!

Awty scored highly on a variety of factors, including SAT/ACT scores, student-teacher ratio, the quality of colleges students consider, and reviews from students and parents, to earn this recognition. Thank you to our students, faculty, and staff for helping our school to accomplish this achievement! We’re very proud of you.

The data for this ranking was obtained from the U.S. Department of Education and then analyzed by Niche’s team of data scientists to create the rankings.

Awty parent murad ajani receives daily point of light award

Congratulations to Awty dad Murad Ajani! He received the Daily Point of Light Award at the "Deep From the Heart: The One America Appeal" benefit concert on October 21 at Texas A&M University for his efforts in bringing together a community of more than 2,500 volunteers to help with recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey.

Mr. Ajani received his award from Points of Light Chairman Neil Bush, and was recognized on stage with the five living former presidents, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Jimmy Carter. The presidents launched the One America Appeal on September 7 to raise funds for Hurricane Harvey relief, and subsequently expanded the initiative to include the regions affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

awty team takes first at Dragon Boat Regatta

On October 8, approximately 30 Awty secondary students made their way to Brooks Lake in Sugar Land to participate in the 2017 Gulf Coast International Dragon Boat Regatta, where the Awty Rowing Rams won first place in the U18 age category. Jeremy Jason, the team’s captain and drummer, led the team for the sixth time.

The Awty team was sponsored by the APPA, the Awty Rams Booster Club, and a group of Chinese parents. Parent Coordinator Ms. Lisa Li did a great job organizing the event. Members from the China Club and the Chinese Honor Society also volunteered to promote the event.

This is the second time an Awty team has won first place in the Dragon Boat competition. Great job, Rowing Rams! Paddles up!

#Socktober

Lower School Student Council members and other Lower School students helped to count the socks donated on the main campus for Socktober! The final sock count on both campuses for #Socktober was 3,454 pairs... 1,000 more than last year! Amazing!

Alexandra Wolff's Gold Award Project benefits TWRC

Congratulations to senior Alexandra Wolff! Her Gold Award project, the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts, focused on awareness for Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition (TWRC).

Alex is pictured here at the Center with $100 worth of wish-list items and supplies she collected from her classmates in a supply drive she organized at Awty! She also created a video about TWRC that she presented at her school and an activity book for children about wildlife. Alex has participated as a TWRC volunteer since 2015.
